World Youth Festival on the Air

Caracas, Aug 3 (Prensa Latina) The president of the National Coordinating Committee of the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students, David Velasquez, said the International Broadcast Center (IBC) will enusre the event reaches the world.

At the opening of the IBC of radio and television in Caracas Velasquez said, "This is the fruit of joint efforts to ensure the spread of discussions, agreements and conclusions so the festival reaches not only Venezuela, but also Latin America and the rest of the world."


He commended the support provided to IBC by TELESUR television network, government stations such as Venezolana de Television and Vive TV, the international media, and social movements.

16th World Youth Festival Delegates Check Out Venezuela

Delegates to the 16th World Festival of Youth and Students from August 8-15 will tour the capital upon arrival over the next few days to learn of governmental social programs in health care and education.

The Organizing Committee said the tour will comprehend the communities of del Valle, San Jose-Altagracia, Macarao and Coche.

The National Preparatory Committee said there are almost 8,000 participants including Cuba’s 1,000-strong delegation
