Baghdad, Jun 1 (Prensa Latina) The prevailing violence has killed more than ten people in Iraq over the last few hours, casting doubts on the stability parroted by the government.
Police sources said a car bomb set off at a parking lot behind the Iranian Embassy, in Karrada at 02:00 am., killing two civilians and wounding five, including three security guards.
Several vehicles were seriously damaged.
In Baghdad, a police officer was hurt by a bomb set off inside his car. The blast killed a second officer and wounded four people.
A suicide bomber blew himself up last night in Hit, west Ramadi, Al Anbar province, killing at least 10 policemen and wounded 12.
The US command reported one its helipcopter crashed south of Baghdad due to technical damage. Two soldiers were wounded.
The US Army has lost more than 50 helicopters in Iraq since the beginning of the invasion and occupation in March 2003.
Meanwhile, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner continued his visit to Iraq where he met with top government officials, including President Jalal Talabani.
Upon his arrival Saturday in Nasiriya, 250 miles south of Baghdad, he was welcomed by Vice President Adel Andul Mahdi.
