OAKLAND, CA - 14JANUARY09 - A rally protesting the killing of Oscar Grant, a young African American supermarket worker, by an officer of the Bay Area Rapid Transit police.

Protesters lie on the ground, and shout out "Don't Shoot!" to remind onlookers of the way Grant and other victims of police shootings have died.

Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums tells the crowd that their protests helped to ensure that the officer who shot Grant was finally arrested for murder.
