While some of what you say is true and an obstacle for us, it is up to us to redifine the terms. "Changing the name" would not only be dishonest, it would be a failure. As soon as you talk about the working class or work in it's behalf, you will be called a Communist.
When we talk about the revolutionary changes that are necessarry and are confronted with the ghosts of Stalin or Mao, I point out that whatever kind of post capitalist society we build is up to us. It is our own American working class that must define the conditions of our liberation and while we can learn from the mistakes and successes of other experiences, we are not bound to them any more than we are bound to repeat the civil war or the crusades.
