One way to slowly move the greed machines such as Wal-Mart into at least the spirit of socialism, is to limit the pay of the highest paid person in the corporation to an amount not to be more than 10 times the wage of it's lowest paid employee. If they wish to make more, they will have ot pay more. It would at least get the mindset moving in the right direction.
