Still struggling

imgres 6

Still struggling to know my soul and express it in poetry.

It is a great practice in "listening to the still small voice of the Spirit".

Sometimes I hear Whitman or Sandberg or Millay or Langston Hughes or Dylan Thomas
or Ginsburg or dear sainted Angelou as they went to those same deep places

Or Isaac Hayes writing Try a Little Tenderness or the rising Mississippi River anger of
"Mannish Boy" by Muddy Waters rising from centuries of slavery and peonage.
