Concerts, audiovisual screenings and photo exhibitions are some of the activities which commemorated in Nicaragua the 38th death anniversary of the legendary Argentinean-Cuban guerilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara.
The Che Guevara Committee informed that the central meeting to honor the Heroic Guerilla Fighter memory, murdered in Bolivia in October 8th, 1967, took place last Sunday 9th in the Center for Rural and Social Research, Promotion and Development (CIPRES) in Managua.
In the act, also carried out in solidarity with Cuba and Venezuela, took part 'the best exponents of revolutionary music', added the announcement referringt to the singers Carlos Mejía Godoy, Mario Montenegro, Danilo Norori and the Staccato and America Vive groups.
The working team of the TV program El Lado Oscuro (The Dark Side) prepares the event 'Che Comandante, Amigo' ('Che Commandant, Friend'), which began last Friday 7th by screening unedited documentaries Nicaragua.
The Film Screening which was repeated the following Saturday, included a work on the life and work of the Cuban singer and composer Silvio Rodríguez and a report on the Nicaraguan students in the Caribbean island.
Besides, the documentary 'Aquellos años ('Those years'), by the audiovisual artist Marcio Vargas, and a video clip on the guerilla commandant was projected.
Without Che Guevara revolutionary contribution none of us would be able to carry on our current 'modus vivendi', expressed Carlos Vargas the organizer of the event and film director and brother of Marcio.
The Cuban embassy in Managua also honoured the Heroic Guerilla Fighter last Saturday 8th, in the 38th anniversary of his murder in Bolivia by the Central Agency of Intelligence of United States (CIA) hands, by laying a wreath at the monument erected to his memory in the CIPRES.
